Springfield,Cupar

Our latest outing saw us stepping out in a cold but sunny afternoon from Springfield. This is part of a larger 10 mile walk but this part around 4.5 miles was suitable for our group with minimal incline. It's been a while since our last walk in December so there was a lot of catching up with each other's news and lovely to meet up again with folks who for various reasons this has been their first walk for some time. Lovely to have you back with us again

This walk took us along some lovely paths, tracks and quiet roads from Springfield towards Stratheden Hospital, through a woodland track towards Elwood Golf Course. We then crossed the main road, which we followed for about half a mile before we took off through more woodland. This path took us via Crawford Priory, a quite magnificent ruin, which was well photographed by the group. History of the Priory, which never was used as a Priory, can be found on the internet. We then walked a path which meandered via Cults Mill back to Springfield with a great coffee and tea break, including cakes, scones, biscuits and sweets at the Springfield Tavern

Saying our walkers prayer we then headed for home with daylight just beginning to fade on what was a lovely walk with great company
